There are competitions for both Professional and Backyard BBQ Teams. Professionals compete for more money and also an entry fee into any KCBS event. Winners Choice ($250 value)
Both Professional and the Backyard contest are 100% Payback of entry.
KCBS Sanctioning has been applied for. ABA will be using KCBS Rules and Judging Procedures
This tour is designed for the Weekend Barbeque enthusiast. American Bass Anglers operates bass tournaments on major lakes all over the eastern US. 5 sites have been selected for 2009 to host Barbeque Cook-Offs.
Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series Bass Tournament and BBQ Cook-offs. Each location will have special events including outdoor show and vendors.

“Spaces will fill up fast and team entries are limited. All teams will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.”

Professional Team Barbeque Cook-Off Categories
Teams may enter in any of the following categories
1. Pork Ribs
2. Pork (Shoulder/Butt)
3. Chicken
4. Brisket
5. Sauce
(Use of Early Times Whisky®)
6. Dessert
Professional Payout Per Category
This payout is based on 15 teams the KCBS minimum. All events will have 100% payout. The more team the bigger the payout

Grand Champion Prize: $100
Professional Cook-off (only) with less than 15 Professional Teams will be cancelled and entries will refunded. All professional team entries must be recieved within 10 days prior to the event or a late fee will be acessed of $25. In the event a cook-off is cancelled all teams will be notified 7 day prior to the event and entry fees will be refunded in full. Professional payout will increase based on more than 15 teams. These are a 100% payout events. Backyard Cook-off will be held reguardelss the number of entries.

Back in 2006, there were few thoughts of competing at the level of winning a Grand Champion at any sanctioned barbecue competition. “Just for kicks” Billy told me that he and a friend decided to “test the water” and compete in two contests. Entry Fees:
Pro Teams: $250.00
Backyard Teams: $50.00
Friday:
Site Set-up: 8am
Registration: 8am - 4:30pm
Meat Inspection: At check-in, meat will be inspected. No pre-cooking is allowed.
Chef 's Meeting: 5:00pm
All registered contestants must attend, for review of rules and regulations for the event.
Saturday:
Judging:11:00am - 2:30pm
The tour judging rules will be mailed to each competitor as entries are received.
Awards: 4:00pm
The Award Ceremonies will he held just after the Bassmaster Weekend Series Weigh in. |
